Announcing the Winners of Old Croc’s Most Aussome Recipe Contest
Our team of judges sorted through hundreds of mouthwatering entries and have tallied their votes to name the winners of Old Croc’s Most Aussome Recipe Contest! Each recipe was evaluated on three criteria: Taste, creativity, and visual appeal. Over the roars of their growing stomachs, the judges told us that this year’s competition was steep, so let’s have a round of applause for the home chefs that snagged the top spots!
And now, without any further ado….
Grand Prize: winner of $1,000
Cranberry, Apricot, Ham & Cheddar-Stuffed Waffles with Spicy Maple Syrup by Deborah Biggs
Fruit topped waffles meet a classic grilled ham and cheese–all topped with a spiked maple syrup! Mornings would be better if they all started with a breakfast like this… just sayin’!
2nd Place: winner of $500
Tex Mex Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes by Pamela Gelsomini
Loaded up with goodness and topped with melted cheddar, this twice-baked potato is a hearty, flavor-packed, veggie-friendly entree.
The judges loved the idea of a sweet n’ salty combo! Creamy maple & blueberry ice cream gets a flavor kick from our Smoked Sharp Cheddar.
4th Place: $200
Smokehouse Sweet Potato & Bacon Croc-quettes by Lidia Haddadian
Bites made with bacon, sweet potato, and our Smoked Sharp Cheddar. We picture ourselves serving these smoky little bites during football season–and watching hungry fans clear the plate in record time!
5th Place: $100
Guava and Cheddar Cheese Wontons with Sweet Orange Dipping Sauce by Naylet LaRochelle
Fried pillows stuffed with our savory Sharp Cheddar and a dollop of guava paste, and drizzled in a sweet orange sauce… the thought of these alone is enough to make us drool!
